Hours: M – F  8am to 5pm

Job Summary:

We are looking for a New Home Construction Estimator to calculate costs and gains of residential construction projects. This is a new position for our growing & dynamic Construction Team! You will collect and analyze data while working closely with our Trade Partners. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with numbers and analytical. The ability to read and understand plans and specifications is required for this position. You must be able to complete take-offs of plans and specifications, have great attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning along with offering our Home Buyers a semi-custom experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: This list is not all inclusive

• Prepares construction budgets by identifying and projecting costs and analyzing home plans
• Complete takeoffs and pricing for custom requests from our Sales Team
• Handles Change Orders for spec and customer homes
• Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Communicates with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
• Prepares estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products.
• Ensures timely completion of estimates.
• Understands the scope of work to bid.
• Establishes and maintains working relationships with trade partners and manufacturers
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in construction estimating.
• Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
• Strong understanding of residential construction processes.
• Proficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Office Programs including Teams and Excel
• Experience with New Star software a bonus
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Must be detail and process oriented.
• Ability to sit for 8+ hours per day.

Work Environment:

• Business casual, fun and positive, dynamic and fast paced
• General – Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Salaried role.
• This position is hybrid remote
